Missions

God’s instrument to reach every tribe, tongue, people, and nation is the church. The great commission is a call to make much of the name of Jesus both near and far. Therefore, it is our prayer and desire to take him to “our neighbors and to the nations.”

God has gifted each of us uniquely and called all of us to play a part in this great mission through praying, giving, and going where the gospel is neededOur mission offering goes to support the various ministries God has called us to do locally as well as internationally.

After accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we need to find out what God wants us to do. One way is to go on a short-term mission trip. Many have found how to use their God-given talents for His kingdom this way. Our church has a number of short-term mission trips each year. We send teams to West Africa where we partner with local believers to spread the gospel and disciple new believers.

DISASTER RELIEF

Since 1986, MBC Disaster Relief has grown from a handful of volunteers to a mighty force of responders.  We have answered the call to countless disasters in Missouri and around the world.  Missouri is known as one of the premier SBC DR states.

Missouri offers about 2,000 trained and credentialed volunteers.  These volunteers are equipped and ready to answer the call of any type of disaster.  We work with 42 SBC state conventions to advance the gospel in the middle of crises – whenever, wherever, however.

MBC Disaster Relief hosts four training sessions each year in our state.  Because of national agreements, each MBC DR volunteer must have a background check and be trained.  Each training event is scheduled on a Friday evening and Saturday.  You can get involved in the following areas:
Feeding (Mass Care)
Chainsaw Recovery
Flood Recovery (Mud Out)
Shower/Laundry
Chaplaincy
Child Care
Communication
IMT (Incident Management Team)
Blue Hat (team leadership)
Assessment

CarePortal

Every child belongs in a healthy, loving family. No other environment has proven to be better suited for or more effective at delivering the safety, stability, and care that is so vitally important to a child’s wellbeing.

Across the United States, however, a hidden crisis has been ravaging our communities. Each year, government child protection agencies are alerted to more than 7 million children¹ who have experienced maltreatment. These reports have resulted in over 400,000 children being removed from their homes and placed in an overburdened foster care system. Any amount of time spent in foster care is traumatic and has lasting consequences that put kids at high risk for devastating outcomes later in life.
